He was Director of the highly respected Christine Abrahams Gallery in Melbourne for twenty-two years and National President of the Australian Commercial Galleries Association (now Art Galleries Association of Australia). He has held numerous board and committee appointments and is a past member of the Art Consulting Association of Australia.

Guy consults on all aspects of collecting and valuing art. Since 1994 he has been an approved valuer for the Australian Government’s Cultural Gifts Program. He is currently approved to value in the following classes of property:
